1. What is the story behind your name change this past year?
A new name was needed to reflect our commitment to all of Sarpy County and Ralston, not just our three historical towns. NeighborGood was chosen with the families we serve in mind.
2. What should the community know about NeighborGood?
Feeding our neighbors and taking care of the community is our passion. Our volunteers, staff, and board members are local residents who want to make a difference.
3. How can the community support NeighborGood?
Educate friends and neighbors on the need in Sarpy County. It's hard to see that poverty, homelessness, and food insecurity exist in our neighborhoods, but we help neighbors in every subdivision in our community.
4. What is the most meaningful part of your work?
Helping a family be successful. Seeing families have fresh diapers thanks to our partnership with the Nebraska Diaper Bank or making a birthday cake from a youth group donation are little things that shine. The conversations we have with our senior neighbors are bright spots in their days. What we provide keeps them going to the next month and helps in a small way.
