Landyn's Game

Making a name for herself in the Big East

Landyn White is fierce, and many of her opponents would agree. What her friends, teammates and family will tell you is that she is also kind, devoted and thoughtful. She is an incredible national collegiate lacrosse player, and a great representative of the city of Alpharetta.

White began playing lacrosse in middle school where she quickly fell in love with the sport's fast-paced, competitive nature. She played goalie for Alpharetta's Cambridge High School, played travel lacrosse with the nationally ranked program, Southern Zone, and was named a USA Lacrosse All-American.

"While in high school, I started watching more college lacrosse and attending tournaments and camps to play alongside some of the best talent in the country," says Landyn.

As of press time, Landyn is finishing up the 2024 season and her college career. She was named Big East Goalkeeper of the Year in both 2022 and 2023, and UConn team captain for 2022, 2023 and 2024. In 2023, Landyn achieved the program record with more than 200 saves in a single season and reached a career-high of over 600 saves.

"My experience at UConn has been nothing short of a dream," says Landyn. "Academically, I was able to pursue an undergraduate degree in Allied Health Sciences as well as two master’s degrees – one in Public Health and I am currently finishing my MBA."

"On the athletic side, there are no words to describe the amount of gratitude that I have for my experience," she adds. "I have been surrounded by incredible teammates, a phenomenal coaching staff, and a great support staff throughout my time here."

Prior to attending UConn, Landyn coached lacrosse through the Alpharetta recreational leagues, volunteered at several nonprofits, and enjoyed the amenities offered at North Park and Bell Memorial Park.

When she is home, she loves to walk around Alpharetta City Center and relax on the Town Green, and she always makes time to visit Never Enough Thyme, Local Expedition Wood Fired Grill, Valor Coffee, Dress Up and several stores at Avalon. As White added, "I am so proud to be from such an incredible city and consider myself an Alpharetta native for life."
