Marcelo Fernandez, manager of Design Within Reach and member of the American Society of Interior Design, is all about color.

“I don’t wear any black ever,” he laughs as he glances down, “except my shoes.”

He’s also about layers and classic mid-century design.

“These pieces are timeless,” he explains, gesturing toward a glass-top coffee table, “because they can always mix in.”

Marcelo works with designers and clients, designing projects as small as tabletops and as large as entire houses.

He recently designed a home top-to-bottom around a couple’s art collection.

“I picked out a fabric sample for the dining room, and it grew from there!”

And when he’s not decorating homes, he and DWR host social events for numerous Westport societies and organizations. Because not only does he have style, but he’s also a really nice guy.
