Get ready, Potomac! The much-anticipated Ice Cream Social for Charity is returning to Park Potomac on August 23rd, and this year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever. Benefiting the Back to School Backpacks & Supplies Drive, this fun-filled day supports underserved children in our community, ensuring they head back to school proud, prepared, and ready to succeed.

In collaboration with Interfaith Works and Washington Commanders star Santana Moss’ 89 Ways to Give, the event combines the joy of summer with the spirit of giving back. Last year, Potomac Lifestyle Magazine revived the cherished Ice Cream Social, bringing families, friends, and neighbors together to collect nearly 20,000 school supplies. The turnout was incredible, and the generosity of our community made a meaningful difference for local children.

This year, we’re going even bigger! Enjoy delicious food, games, vendor displays, and, of course, plenty of delicious ice cream. The day will also feature fun activities for all ages, live entertainment, and opportunities to connect with local businesses and community leaders. It’s the perfect way to celebrate summer while making an impact.

Want to get involved? We’re inviting everyone to participate in this exciting event. Whether you’d like to donate school supplies, sponsor a booth, or volunteer, there are ways for you to contribute. Together, we can ensure that every child starts the school year with confidence and the tools they need to succeed. Let’s make this year’s Ice Cream Social an unforgettable day of fun, community, and giving back.
