The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office began celebrating 185 years of serving the community with a soft opening of their new Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Museum on December 14th.
In the museum, the public can view the rich history and progression of the department from a small rural county in 1837 to the 7th largest Sheriff’s Office in the State.
December 14th, 1837, the first Sheriff, Joshua Robbins, was selected to head the third county formed in Texas. Sheriff Rand Henderson, the 41st Sheriff, declared the museum "a labor of love."
