Meaningful Pain Relief

Dr. Maxey and Allay Pain & Spine Management

Dr. Douglas Maxey, MD has recently opened a state-of-the-art pain care clinic at 3725 South Lake Forest Drive, Suite 114 in McKinney where you will find not just a skilled team but one that genuinely cares about their patients. Dr. Maxey is board-certified in both anesthesiology, completing his residency at The Ohio State University, and pain management, training at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for his fellowship. Combine those credentials with the team’s compassion and you will see why reviews of Allay Pain and Spine Management are so outstanding.

Dr. Maxey started off as an electrical engineer in his home state of Colorado but soon decided to commit himself to the field of medicine.  His medical school and internship were completed at West Virginia University.  There he met his wife and they have been happily married for over 10 years.  They have a very charming 2-year-old son.

The primary goal for Dr. Maxey is to improve his patients’ quality of life by not only reducing pain but also improving function, sleep and other aspects of their lives that are negatively affected by pain.  He hopes to intervene early before the pain becomes debilitating and he is adept at treating those whose pain is already an overwhelming burden. Acknowledging that every patient has different goals, the team works with each patient to achieve the best result possible. Even if you have had a previous surgery or therapy that didn’t resolve your issue(s) substantially, you should visit Dr. Maxey.  He involves other medical professionals into the treatment plan so you receive coordinated care that will return your life to a much better place.

Besides his ability to relieve such common issues as neck pain, back pain, sciatica, and arthritis, Dr. Maxey uses novel approaches to reduce or eliminate more complex joint, spine, and neuropathic pain. He uses therapies that include radiofrequency ablation, peripheral nerve and spinal cord stimulation, targeted drug delivery, platelet rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell injections. Dr. Maxey stays abreast of the most innovative procedures and incorporates new evidence-based therapies in his practice.  At Allay Spine and Pain Management, you can be certain you are getting the latest in patient care.

To round out his life, Dr. Maxey is an avid skier and enjoys reading, traveling, playing the guitar, and watching NFL football.  Please call the office at (469) 545-1082 or visit the website at www.allayspineandpain.com to request an appointment.  A primary care provider referral may be required.
