Meet Canvas Artistry

the experience

Canvas Artistry, Downtown ABQ

Established in 2015, Downtown location opened 2021

Concept

First in Nob Hill and now on the third floor at One Central (Downtown ABQ), Canvas Artistry is a gallery, restaurant, and cocktail bar. The art, music, crafted cocktails, and a novel food menu provides an experience like no other in town. The open concept and multiple garage doors provide artistic views of the downtown skyline and sunshine. The space allows for larger gatherings from mornings (with crafted coffee drinks) through the night with tasty cocktails. Music always infuses the atmosphere. The genera and vibe depend on the day of the week.

Food & Cocktails

Chef AJ Garcia has been with Canvas since they were open at their Nob Hill location. He crafts their seasonal menu with deliberation for creating “an elevated, yet comfort food experience”. The dish you want more of: Spam Musubi -beer-battered, ginger soy mayo, roasted seaweed, sushi rice, sesame, sriracha, mango soy reduction. The cocktail to tickle your fancy: La Neta - Herradura Reposado Tequila, Cointreau, pineapple, agave, fresh lime, Tajin rim, Chamoy sucker.

Art

Amidst forced shutdowns during the Pandemic, Canvas successfully sustained their business and maintained their support for artists through their online gallery, which showcases ongoing collects of past featured artists. When Canvas opened its expanded downtown location, it featured multiple pieces by two remarkable local artists (Josh Patterson and Cassidy Gallegos). Starting in February, you can view work by international artist Melissa Pacheco, who utilizes layers of mixed media. She describes a canvas as a “breathing surface - a source of energy subject to a higher consciousness." The artwork featured by Canvas seems to fly off the wall, so be snappy and purchase the piece that moves you at first sight.
