Five years ago, a sweet lab mix named Daisy found her fur-ever home with mom Jessica and changed more lives than she could have imagined. Now, at a graceful 9 or 10, she is not only a loyal companion but an Austin College campus legend.
Daisy isn’t just any dog—she’s a master of charm. With a repertoire of classic tricks like “sit,” “paw,” and the ever-impressive “other paw”, she’s always ready to show off… especially if treats are involved. Daisy is known to offer a paw preemptively, just in case it earns her a snack. Smart girl.
Her favorite things in life are simple but joyful: the clatter of pots and pans while waiting patiently for a scrap in the kitchen, the wind in her fur on car rides, and long walks filled with squirrel-watching. But more than anything, Daisy loves her role as the unofficial "official" Emotional Support Animal at Austin College.
Every morning, she hopes she is headed to campus, and if she’s not, she lets her disappointment be known. When she does go to work, she brings sunshine with her—wandering through classrooms, greeting every student and staff member like a beloved friend, and only sometimes pausing for a treat before offering a tail wag or hello. Professors barely blink when Daisy pops in mid-lecture; she’s as much a part of the learning environment as the syllabus.
Daisy’s charm has gone digital, too. With her own Instagram and Facebook pages, she keeps the campus community connected all year long—even alumni and summer-bound students. Her adventures are followed by many, not just because she’s adorable, but because she brings joy, laughter, and warmth to every post.
Daisy isn’t just a pet. She’s a furry piece of Austin College’s heart, and she makes sure no one forgets it.
