Daysy Rodríguez followed her heart to Tennessee and brought her passion for the service industry with her. She's here to build a business and create jobs, two things she's already done successfully in Miami. Now, it's Knoxville's turn.
"My goal is to bring an outstanding quality of service that I don't believe exists here, and I know in my heart that this beautiful town deserves it," she says.
Describe your business.
My business concept is unique because what I’m doing here in Knoxville is made from a fusion of two of my Miami services: residential and business cleaning with lifestyle and concierge services. We not only provide outstanding cleaning services, but we also complement the cleaning with any other needs you may need help with, such as personal cooking, party catering, servers, bartenders, pet-sitting, nanny services, tutoring for your kids and personal errands. Just ask me, and we can help you with most all your needs.
What inspired you to start it?
I was near homelessness due to divorce about 12 years ago. I needed a way to support my daughter and me. I have a childhood friend who had a cleaning business in Central Florida who suggested I give cleaning a try. I followed her advice and quickly built a successful business in South Florida through word-of-mouth referrals from my initial clients.
Why did you choose the service industry as your main focus?
Since I was a little girl, I love cleaning and organizing. In my home country, I would supervise my father’s maids as early as 8 years old. My father, who is a successful businessman in El Salvador, always told me that I need to work in a business that I have a passion for. The smile on my clients’ faces after a successful job, whatever the service we provide, fills me with great joy.
How do you separate yourself from competitors? What makes your work unique?
I don’t want to sound arrogant, but I really don’t feel we have competition in Knoxville. Nobody works as diligently as my team and they never will in this industry. We arrive happily and work with love. Our goal for every job is to treat your house like it is our own. We walk the extra mile with everybody we are blessed to serve.
What do you do in your free time? Give us a glimpse into your life.
In my free time, I invest in God's kingdom. I enjoy going every Wednesday night to teach at Beauty from Ashes in Lenoir City, which is a rehab home where I can help girls who are battling drug addictions. I love going to help out twice a week at The Love Kitchen where homeless and homebound people in the Knoxville community can get a home-cooked meal. Also, since spending the majority of my time in East Tennessee the last few months, I am learning to love UT football, and I can’t wait for basketball season to start. Of course, I enjoy quiet weekends with my boyfriend and sneaking up to the beautiful Smoky Mountains for a drive through the park. East Tennessee is one of the most beautiful places on the planet in my opinion.
Describe yourself in three words.
God lover, hard worker and a giver.
