As a small child, Gregory Lynam experienced something truly terrifying. When he was just 3 1/2 years old, he was attacked by a dog, suffering significant facial lacerations to the right side of his face from above the eyebrow under the eyelid, upper lip, lower lip, and chin area. Gregory's parents rushed him to the emergency room, and the on-call plastic surgeon did a fantastic job putting him back together in the operating room. Due to his positive experience with his surgeon, he no longer feared going to the doctor or getting shots. Instead of letting the incident hold him back, he allowed his admiration and fascination with his surgeon to fuel his passion, inspiring him to become Dr. Gregory Lynam, an accomplished, board-certified plastic and maxillofacial surgeon.
Dr. Lynam attended The University of Richmond and later pursued dental and medical degrees at the Medical College of Virginia. Before entering the plastic surgery training program, he completed oral and maxillofacial residency programs and three years of general surgery training. According to Dr. Lynam, the most fascinating aspect of being a plastic surgeon is the ability to perform various surgeries from head to toe.
