Who do you know that has six children- teenage through young adult? Who also runs their own successful real estate business, and yet still finds time to serve in her church and community? This special person is Eve Henry. She is a wife, mom, business owner, and resident of the Prosper community. I recently had the opportunity to talk with Eve and learn more about how she manages it all with a sense of ease and flair. The more we talked, the more I learned.

Eve and Steve, her husband of 22 years and a former chef, moved to North Texas from the Atlanta area in 2016. It didn’t take them long to discover the many things that they love about this area. Prosper had a similar sense of community, family-oriented activities, and conservative values that both Eve and Steve loved in their early years in Atlanta. Within a few months of relocating to Prosper, they were actively involved in their kids’ schools and sporting events. They found themselves connected to a growing network of friends who have become like family.

Eve has always been in the real estate business. Her parents owned a brokerage in the Atlanta area allowing her to cut her teeth in the business. She always liked it and knew early on that she would follow her family’s legacy. As her own family grew, the flexibility that the real estate business allowed became even more important to her. She and Steve now own their own business Eve Henry Homes with Monument Realty. They specialize in luxury properties and land for custom-built homes. Steve excels at meeting with clients, showing homes, and walking land with prospective buyers and sellers; while Eve has a head for contracts, negotiating deals, and managing the backend steps to complete successful transactions. This successful partnership is key to keeping all the balls in the air and allowing them to rarely miss a game, a concert, or an activity for their children.

Eve has some tried and true tips for managing the busy schedule of her family and business. The Henry family has a master family schedule. Everyone includes their activities, work schedules, and games on the calendar. This helps manage cars, carpool, and meal planning. Once the calendar is laid out, each member submits five things they would like to have for meals (tacos, spaghetti, etc.). When everyone’s favorite meals are overlaid with the schedule, a 30-day meal plan is created. Just imagine knowing what is for dinner for the next 30 days.

Spend time with Eve and you will clearly see that she is enthusiastic about her community and the North Texas area. While she loves the "small-town feel" of both Proper and Celina, she is also quick to discern, and has a healthy awareness, that smart, moderated, and well-planned growth is critical to both communities. Eve recently announced that she is running for the Prosper ISD School Board in the upcoming election. The Prosper school district overlaps four communities including Prosper, Celina, Frisco, McKinney, and includes unincorporated parts of Collin and Denton County. With such a broad footprint, her real estate business and vast knowledge of the local area make her uniquely qualified to listen to and represent all of these communities and unincorporated areas. Also with four children still in the Prosper schools, active involvement with Prosper ISD PTA, the Prosper Ladies Association, and her church as well as a wide network of local friends, she has a great start.

On the go all the time, Eve looks forward to enjoying coffee with new residents and catching up with old friends at the new 1418 Coffee in downtown Prosper. Living and learning how she can best make a difference in their schools and their lives.
