Traci Miller and her husband, Andrew, owners of Terramania in downtown Celina on the Square, have been making the trip to Round Top for nearly 14 years. Traci’s introduction came through her mentor, who would visit the markets to source distinctive pieces for her interior design and home furnishings shop in downtown McKinney.
In its early days, Round Top was a true bargain hunter’s paradise, known for antiques, vintage treasures, and unique home décor. Over the years, the markets have evolved into a creative wonderland featuring vintage textiles, statement lighting, quirky apparel, designer clothing, eclectic jewelry, fine art, and architectural salvage. Where to Go
Stretching 11 miles along State Highway 237 between Brenham and La Grange, Round Top transforms into a treasure-filled corridor of barns, sprawling fields, tents, and pop-up shops.
Iconic venues like the Big Red Barn and Blue Hills feature curated collections of vendors, with displays thoughtfully arranged much like boutique shops in the city. These locations are perfect for gathering inspiration and discovering that one-of-a-kind piece to complete a room. Traci’s favorite stops for inspiration include East End Salvage, The Horseshoe Round Top, and The West Place.
The fields stretch for miles, with some spanning the size of four football fields and filled with tents and small barns as far as the eye can see. Conditions can range from hot and dusty to muddy and chilly, but many fields offer free parking, food and drinks, clean restrooms, and endless opportunities for discovery.
For the true bargain hunter, these fields are paradise. The excitement comes from the hunt because you never know what you’ll uncover. Many vendors are open to negotiation, especially when approached with a respectful offer.
Traci’s Pro Tips: Bring both cash and credit cards. Many field vendors operate on a cash-only basis, while larger barns often have Wi-Fi access for credit card transactions. If something catches your eye, don’t hesitate. Chances are, it won’t be there when you return. Plan on driving from field to field, and bring an extra bag to carry smaller finds as you shop. For larger purchases, make note of where you bought each item so you can easily return later for pickup. Finally, pack towels or blankets to protect fragile treasures for the ride home.
