Meet the Shelley Family!

Taking Care of Business (At Home and on the Lawn)

If you’re looking for a “bright spot” in Weber County, look no further than Brian and Tami Shelley. As the heart and soul behind The Poop Butler, this couple is turning their lifelong passion for pups into a vital community service.

The Shelleys’ story is one of enduring partnership—high school sweethearts who have been together for more than 35 years. Though they recently moved back to Ogden from West Valley City, they are no strangers to the area; both are proud alumni of Weber High School. Their deep roots in the community are matched only by the size of their family tree. With three sons, two daughters, four grandsons, and another grandbaby on the way, the Shelley household is a whirlwind of activity and affection.

At the center of it all are their four beloved Great Danes. Their status as avid dog lovers isn’t just a label—it’s the foundation of their business. Tami describes the family as incredibly close-knit, noting that while Brian brings a lighthearted spirit and sense of fun to their daily lives, she serves as the organizer who keeps everything running smoothly. Brian, described by his daughter Becca as “very sweet,” is praised by Tami as a patient and involved father. In turn, Brian calls Tami the “glue” that holds their large, vibrant family together.

When they aren’t working, you’ll find the Shelley boys camping in the red rocks of Moab or the whole crew gathered around a table playing card games and cooking.

Since launching The Poop Butler, they’ve extended that same sense of family to every client’s backyard. Their commitment to animal welfare is reflected in their business model: Brian offers a special discount to anyone who adopts a dog through a shelter. Whether you need a cleaner yard or simply want to support a local family that truly cares, the Shelleys are a neighborly treasure.

"I love my dad. He is so sweet." —Becca Shelley
