Brandi Wilks
Parker Town Councilmember, Small Business Owner, Wilks Real Estate
Could you please share a little bit about yourself?
I’m a third-generation Parker native, and that has shaped so much of who I am. My roots here run deep. I grew up knowing Parker as a small, close-knit town, and I’ve had the unique opportunity to watch it evolve while still holding onto the things that make it feel like home.
I’m a mom of four and a small business owner, and both of those roles have shaped the way I see the world. Owning a small business has given me an even greater appreciation for what it takes to take a chance, build something from the ground up, and invest your time and energy into something you believe in.
I care deeply about where Parker is going because this is where I’ve chosen to build my life as well. I believe in showing up, getting involved, and being willing to roll up your sleeves when there is something worth doing.
At the end of the day, I’m incredibly grateful to have always called Parker home, and I don’t take that for granted.
What are you most passionate about?
I’m most passionate about making a positive impact and turning good ideas into something real.
I’ve always believed that if you have the ability to make something better, you should try. For me, that means looking at a challenge and asking, “What can we actually do about this?” I love seeing an idea move from a conversation to something tangible that makes a difference.
What motivates me most is knowing that the things we do today can have an impact long after we’re done doing them. I don’t need everything to have my name on it, and I don’t need to be the person who gets the credit. I just want to know that I contributed something meaningful.
To me, there’s no better way to spend your time than doing something that leaves a lasting positive mark.
What do you love most about Parker?
I think Parker is a rare find. We have created this unique little bubble where you can have incredible amenities, opportunities, and access to everything you could want, while still feeling like you’re somewhere a little more special.
I see that every day through my real estate business. I meet people who have researched communities all over the area, and once they experience Parker, they say, “This is where we want to be.” I see families planning, moving, strategizing their budgets, and doing whatever they can to make Parker their home.
And I think that says something. When people who have no roots here are willing to work so hard to put down roots here, you know there is something special about this place. I think part of that is the feeling people have when they’re here. They want a place where their kids can grow up, where they can know their neighbors, and where they can feel secure.
Growing up here, I think it would be easy to take some of that for granted. But my real estate business has given me the opportunity to see Parker through the eyes of people discovering it for the first time, while my work on Town Council has given me an even deeper appreciation for what it takes to protect the quality of life we have here. Those two perspectives constantly remind me just how special this place is.
What is your word of encouragement for our community?
Most importantly, I hope we remember to enjoy each other.
We can disagree, come from different backgrounds, and have completely different perspectives while still choosing to be part of the same community. We don’t have to see everything the same way to appreciate one another, and I think there is something powerful about remembering that.
Life moves incredibly fast, and sometimes we get so caught up in what’s next, what’s wrong, or what we disagree about that we miss what’s happening right in front of us. There is so much good happening around us, and I think sometimes we just need to slow down long enough to see it and to see each other.
I hope we choose to celebrate more, assume the best in each other, and remember that we have far more in common than we sometimes realize. At the end of the day, we’re all just trying to build a good life, and there’s something pretty wonderful about doing that together.
