Meet Your Neighbor: Holly Coors & Taylor Smith

Mom and Daughter Team Up to Help Others Find their Family Home

Mother-daughter real estate team, Holly Coors and Taylor Smith, talk about their deep roots in Colorado, making a home in Douglas County and finding joy in family.

Holly, tell us about your background:

I was born into family with a very recognizable name and product but was grounded with humble roots. I pursued a master’s degree in International Business in order to join the international team at Coors Brewing Co. and participate in the expansion of the company’s offerings outside the U.S. I spent 13 years at Coors and developed deep experience in sales, marketing and international business. In 2018, I became a licensed real estate agent and joined LIV Sotheby’s International Realty. Two years ago, my oldest daughter, Taylor Smith, decided to join me to create a new family business.

Coming from a well-known Colorado family, what does “family” mean to you?

I grew up with three siblings, a very busy family, and when we weren’t playing sports, we were playing board games, cards, or could always be found outside on the trampoline. I duplicated this same family “togetherness” with my own family, even as a single mom and only caregiver to my four kiddos. Over the years, we've lived in Golden, Applewood, Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree. While we've moved a lot, I've always told my kids that home is where Mom is.  I doubled down on making sure my kids had a safe space full of love and laughter, support and plenty of “fur therapy” with our animals. My kids have adopted a core behavior that is so important to me and that is showing up for each other at all times in all situations. Family always comes first!

We bring that same approach to our work and treat our clients like family. Our goal is to provide a seamless environment and get to know our clients on a personal level, so we can deliver the results they desire and deserve.

Taylor, what’s it like working with your mom?

I’ve been working with my mom for two years now, after getting my real estate license. I’d always heard my mom talk about working directly with her dad for five years when she was at Coors, and that time spent together led her to see her dad in a new light. She saw what fed his passions, what made him tick. I watched my mom become passionate building her real estate business and decided to join her and create a special bond. We are a good, balanced team. While my mom has the experience, I bring a new perspective and new generational traits, like social media and other ways of engaging with our clients.

What is the best-kept secret in this area?

During the pandemic, we moved to the best-kept secret on our side of town and that is McArthur Ranch. Every lot has acreage, amazing views and abundant wildlife. We are greeted by our five chickens each morning. Our cats roam freely and hunt more than we would like. And our dog MoMo loves her daily walks up the bluffs and all that comes with being in our great outdoors.

Over the years, we've lived in Golden, Applewood, Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree. While we've moved a lot, I've always told my kids that home is where Mom is.
