Get to Know Some of the Hometown Favorites

MEET Doris, Frank, and Norman

@threelittlefrenchies

Doris is 9 years old and is one of the original @threelittlefrenchies. Her favorite activities are bird watching and napping on a fluffy blanket. She’s never been into toys but does enjoy chewing on a bone.

Five year old Frank is a happy go lucky guy with a big smile and an even bigger underbite. He enjoys eating sticks, toy parts, and anything he can get out of the garbage! He is very attached to his people and howls when they leave. He loves chasing and wrestling with his younger brother Norman.

Norman is two. He is very loving and always wants to be on someone’s lap.  He is very vocal - crying and whining until he gets picked up. Needless to say he is a very spoiled pup!  In addition to playing and wrestling with Frank, they also are double trouble.  They have destroyed more dog beds than their dog mom, Angela, can count. Doris just sits on the couch watching the mayhem with a look that says, "boys, that is not a good idea!"

All three enjoy baths, warm ovens, fireplaces, and walks.

MEET Rose

@rosethegoldenr

Rose is a Retrieve a Golden of the Midwest (RAGOM) rescue and is three years old. She was given up twice because of a condition which made her leak urine, but with medication, she is leak free and a completely healthy dog! She is an extremely gentle dog who rarely barks, but is super expressive nonetheless!

She can only greet someone if she has something in her mouth (a towel, socks, a toy, etc). On walks, the bigger the stick, the better.

Rose is afraid of the dark and hates carrots but loves cucumbers. She hates the rain, but loves to swim.

Rose's favorite activities include  swimming, chomping on sticks, laying on brewery patios in the Cities, belly rubs, and playing with her kitten brother.

MEET Secondhand Hounds

@secondhandhounds

Secondhand Hounds is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue in Minnesota. Founded in July of 2009, their many volunteers have made a positive impact on the lives of many dogs and cats in the Minneapolis community, with over 20,000 animals rescued. Secondhand Hounds provides safe shelter, proper veterinary care and daily necessities for animals at risk, while working hard to find each a permanent, loving home!

Many of the animals they rescue are those that are out of time at kill shelters.  They also rescue animals that may have severe injuries which other shelters cannot foot the bill for in terms of necessary surgery or medication that the animal may require.

Beyond adopting a pet, Secondhand Hounds is always looking for volunteers. If you would like to help foster a pet in need, or if you would like to help with events they host, visit www.secondhandhounds.org and get connected with a team member. If you are able and willing to donate to their cause, you can access donation options online at the same web address listed above. Be a part of helping to save a life - not only will it change the pet's life, it will also change yours!
