Healthy Holiday Appetizers

Let's Make Meatballs!

Dr. Sheh Vahid, DMD, MS enjoys treats like the rest of us, but invites us to mix in a protein-packed appetizer this holiday season. Founder of Woodland Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Sheh's practice was built from the ground up with her patients in mind. Located in the heart of East Cobb, little touches and a vibrant waiting room serve as a reminder this practice is dedicated to children and youth. 

Easy, quick and packed with protein, vitamin A, calcium and iron, let's make meatballs! Be sure to double the recipe for those extra hungry guests!

Ingredients:

2 TBSP parmesan cheese

1/2 tsp salt

 2 tsp dried oregano

1/2 cup bread crumbs

Half a pound ground beef (sub chicken or turkey)

2 eggs beaten

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350.

2. In a large bowl mix parmesan, oregano and bread crumbs.

3. Combine all ingredients adding eggs and meat.

4. Use ice cream scooper to form meatballs (golf ball size)

5. Place 1" apart on a foil lined baking sheet or parchment paper. 

6. Bake for 10 minutes, flip and cook for additional 5-7 minutes until crispy.
