When clients came to Brent Gibson Classic Home Design a few years ago to design and build their modern farmhouse dream home, they had definite ideas in mind.
The property, located in the Sweetwater Addition on Post Road, provided the perfect setting for their home and young family with backyard views to a beautiful lake. Brent was able to view the property with them and create the perfect home.
"My clients had such exceptional ideas, which were out of the ordinary and really stretched our thought and design process," Brent says.
The home has since gained quite a bit of notoriety recently and has been called "The Most Beautiful Home in Oklahoma."
Jim Bowers Construction of Oklahoma City was the builder of this modern farmhouse dream home.
Front: This large front terrace welcomes all guests to this beautiful modern farm designed by Brent Gibson Classic Home Design. The library and formal dining room flank the entry.
Front Entry: The front entry terrace flows into the large foyer with its chevron pattern wood floors. A round wood table provides the perfect accent piece topped by three contemporary domed chandeliers.
Living Room: A step down into the main living area from the foyer makes a nice transition, defining the spaces while allowing a full, open view to the library at the front of the home. Also, the two-story balcony view brings in a light and spacious feeling.
Family Dining Room: Opposite the two-way fireplace of the living room is the family dining room and kitchen. Rough-hewn beams on 12-foot ceilings bring earthiness and coziness to the room while the modern glass French doors lead to the pool and backyard.
Kitchen: The expansive 12-foot island is the focal point of this amazing kitchen. A large window across the sink provides a beautiful view of the backyard pool and lake. Behind the cooktop is a complete "back" kitchen, providing all the necessary storage and prep area.
Formal Dining Room: A crisp, modern dining room can be seen from the entry terrace and is just around the corner from the main entryway. Bleached wood floors and white walls contribute greatly to the lightness of this room.
Master Suite: A vaulted ceiling adorned with wood beams provides a stunning look in the master suite. Bleached wood floors and a fireplace provide ambiance and warmth to this light-filled room.
Gym: The second-floor gym is visible through contemporary sliding glass walls.
Back of House: The serene evening view of the back of the home casts a reflective shimmer of light on the large swimming pool and waterfall.
