When Jennifer Nairn decided to open Apricot Lane Boutique, she could have chosen any number of growing communities. Instead, she chose Celina, a decision rooted in the town's welcoming spirit and close-knit culture.
"Celina has a unique small-town feel with incredible community support," Nairn says. "It felt like the perfect place to start a boutique where women feel welcomed, unique and inspired."
That sense of belonging extends far beyond the boutique's carefully curated fashion. From the beginning, community involvement has been at the heart of Apricot Lane's mission. The support the business has received from local residents has inspired a commitment to giving back in meaningful ways. Whether it's helping customers find the perfect outfit for a special occasion or creating opportunities for neighbors to connect, Nairn believes a boutique should be a place where relationships are built just as much as wardrobes.
"The community has supported us from day one, so giving back is our way to say thank you," she says. "Supporting local causes is part of who we are."
One of the boutique's favorite traditions is its monthly Bunco event benefiting Helping Hands of Celina, a local nonprofit that holds a special place in Nairn's heart. The event has become a favorite among customers who enjoy gathering with friends while supporting an important cause. Apricot Lane also partners with Celina High School, supporting the football program, the Las Gatitas Drill Team and several other organizations throughout the community. These partnerships allow the boutique to celebrate the people and organizations that make Celina such a special place to call home.
As both a business owner and a community member, Nairn is especially proud of what Apricot Lane has become.
"I'm most proud that we have become more than just a boutique. We've created a place where women feel confident, connected and supported."
With Celina continuing to grow, her vision remains the same. She hopes to continue welcoming new families, investing in local organizations and preserving the small-town spirit that first drew her to the community.
"I hope we continue to welcome new families, support local organizations and remain a business that gives back while growing alongside the community that appreciates our small-town charm."
For Nairn, the greatest part of owning a business in Celina isn't just serving customers. It's being surrounded by neighbors who genuinely care about one another.
"The best part about being part of the Celina community is the people," she says. "They genuinely support one another. It's a privilege to be a part of a community that really feels like family. This is 'The Texas You Were Promised.'"
