When you walk into Harps of Trinity on any given day, chances are you’ll recognize someone. One table may be filled with friends chatting over cocktails, another with business colleagues networking over a meal, while tucked in the corner may be a couple enjoying a much-needed date night. That mix of people and occasions is exactly what owners Vince and Wendy LaMattina love about Harps. “You can stop in after a beach day or have date night either way,” Wendy said.
Harps is elevated without feeling overly formal, comfortable without feeling ordinary and sophisticated enough to make an evening feel special. Most importantly, it’s unmistakably local. Over the years, Harps has become much more than a neighborhood restaurant. It’s a gathering place where people throughout Trinity come together. “They support us and we support them,” Vince said. “When it comes to community support, we’re willing to help out. It’s a give and take.”
That connection isn’t a marketing strategy. It’s simply how Vince and Wendy operate. Networking organizations meet here, charitable organizations know they can count on their support, and familiar faces continue walking through the door week after week. “We are very fortunate,” Wendy said. “Everyone is like family. We couldn’t be more grateful for that.”
Of course, the atmosphere and service are only part of the experience. The food and cocktails keep customers coming back. Harps take familiar flavors and give them an elevated bistro approach, finding the perfect balance between comfort and sophistication.
The Ahi Tuna Nachos have developed a loyal following, pairing fresh tuna with light fried wontons, Asian slaw, seaweed, Thai chili, basil aioli and guacamole. Another favorite, Chicken Milanese, features crispy panko chicken cutlets topped with fresh burrata, mixed greens and balsamic glaze. Pair dinner with one of the signature cocktails or wines, and a quick meal can easily become an evening spent talking around the table.
Consistency is another reason guests return. Many employees have been with Vince and Wendy for years. “We’re grateful that a lot of the people here have been here for quite a few years,” Wendy said. “You’re not seeing too many new faces staff-wise, and that goes for the kitchen too. So, consistency is key.” For Vince and Wendy, their team is part of the family they’ve created. “We have a wonderful staff,” Vince said. “We are so fortunate. They take care of us. We take care of them. It’s like a family.”
Harps’ connection to Trinity has been built over many years. The location was originally home to Fiddler's Green, an Irish pub known for live music and pub food, that Vince LaMattina had a hand in guiding as an owner. After eventually returning to the location, Vince and Wendy reinvented the space, reopening as Harps of Trinity and shaping it into the bistro it is today.
Today, Harps reflects the community around it. Comfortable, welcoming and connected. Whether you’re celebrating a milestone, looking for a great place to host a party, meeting friends to watch a game or enjoying date night, Harps of Trinity is ready to welcome you. It’s truly a place where good food, community and memories come together.
