Vickie Lasher, branch manager, has been in the mortgage lending industry since 1984. Her background has taken several twists and turns along the way, from initially working with a small firm to running the mortgage operations of a bank. In 2008 as the mortgage industry was collapsing, Vickie took a leap of faith and opened up her own small brokerage. Several years later she was approached by American Financial Network to join their small, but quickly growing, company. Placing emphasis on customer service and client retention, she has made a positive impression and lasting relationships in the world of mortgage banking. Vickie has proven to stand out among her competitors in this industry due to the knowledge she has obtained through the many hats she has worn, and the integrity she upholds.
"This business found me, and I love this industry because there is no better feeling then knowing you helped someone. I also love Austin! My life here is everything I could dream of and I want to make that possible for others."
Tips
Whomever you decide to use for your mortgage lending needs make sure that you do a little bit of research. Make sure they have a good rating and that they are reputable. You don’t want to leave such a large financial decision in the hands of just anyone. Make sure you listen to your loan officer and provide the documentation needed. They know what is going to be required and are trying to make things as easy as possible for you
Many programs have disappeared with the recent pandemic; however, we are starting to slowly see some coming back. Make sure you understand the type of loan you are getting and the restrictions. It’s important to know what you are signing up for prior to getting too far into the process. Remember, buying a house is stressful. Your entire life is turning upside down and at times you may ask yourself if this is all worth it. Once those keys are in your hands and you are a homeowner everything else will be trivial.
Real Estate is still an excellent choice for investment. The Austin market hasn’t slowed down much and now is picking up tremendously. We will continue to see growth in our area for years to come. Most millionaires are made with Real Estate than any other asset. When looking for a house remember never to fall in love until it is yours. The right house will find you! I see it happen all the time.
Vickie's office is located at the Oasis on Lake Travis. She encourages all to come by and say hi! She stated that they offer maps of Lake Travis for anyone interested, and the brewery outside of her office is an amazing place to watch the sunset!
