Get the inside line on what's new at your favorite resorts this season

As the 2019-2020 ski season kicks off, a collection of Colorado's top resorts let us in on what they've been busy brewing for riders and revelers alike this winter.

Vail:

Novice and expert riders alike will get to enjoy the fruits of the largest expansion and enhancement of Vail's snowmaking operation in the mountain’s history. This development will grant guests earlier access to higher elevation terrain, a wider selection of trails and improved early season ski school slopes. In addition to nearly 200 acres of new snowmaking terrain, Vail is adding new experiences and events to entertain guests while honoring its own storied history.

Aspen Snowmass:

This winter at Aspen Snowmass, visitors will find themselves in the midst of myriad new options for dining, riding, and reveling in Aspen’s auspicious atmosphere. Snowmass Base Village is in the thick of a $600 million mountain-resort development, the first phase of which came to fruition last fall in the form of the new Limelight Hotel Snowmass, ski-in/ski-out residences, a public events plaza with an ice skating rink and more.

This season the expansion continues with a new community center, The Collective, which will feature a new restaurant and bar, as well as a community lounge and a game lounge. Another new development, One Snowmass, will feature a selection of retail and dining options, including JÜS Snowmass, King Yoga, Straight Line Studio, and a full-service salon and spa.

Beaver Creek:

Following a snowmaking expansion in Red Buffalo Park, Beaver Creek now offers more reliable early-season terrain, with the goal of providing more than 3,300 vertical feet of top-to-bottom skiing and riding on opening day each year. For its youngest guests, Beaver Creek has renovated the Children’s Ski School, upgrading its services to ensure a seamless experience across the board, from registration and sales to rentals and fittings. On the hill, riders will get the chance to improve their skills at Beaver Creek’s second signature learning area, Haymeadow Park. The park, designed for beginner riders of all ages, features a gondola, lift, and two magic carpets, plus a learning area with a beginner racecourse, Buffalo Bumps and Berms, and Ske-Cology environmental learning.
