Mr. & Mrs. Crab

Keeping it Crabby in Gainesville!

Gainesville is not the only location Mr. and Mrs. Crab has, but the company is very selective about where they open up, and chose to make this one of their other homes in May 2020 due to UF and their love of this community.  Delayed from their original March grand opening due to the pandemic, they found themselves faced with the huge challenge of the unknown with opening their doors with no dine in allowed and take-out only.  But like many others restaurants who survived this tough time, they not only survived, but thrived, and they attribute this to the great attitude and spirit of their employees and the tremendous community support.

Mr. & Mrs. Crab, located in Butler Plaza Central, is not the only seafood boil house here in town, but they maintain a competitive edge by focusing on superb customer service, a great overall dining experience, and of course, delicious seafood with their own proprietary blend of seasonings and sauces that you can customize to your liking.  Menu items include a wide variety of crabs - king, snow, Dungeness, and blue, as well as shrimp, lobster, scallops, oysters - steamed and raw, calamari, crawfish, clams, and mussels - both green and blue.  Boil platters (especially the create-your-own combos) are the most popular and come with the usual accompaniments of potatoes, sausage and corn, and appetizers, soups and fried seafood items are also available,   For the non-seafood lover, there are chicken wings!

Take-out is still very popular here, but when dining in, be sure to ask about their Happy Hour and Weekly Specials, which are available every week.   And if you're one of many who fall in love with their dried seasonings blend, you can take home a bottle with you, as they are for sale.

Next time you're craving seafood, dig in and keep it crabby!
