If you're looking for your next favorite music genre to explore, check out Nuevo's unique twist on Tejano Soul. Combining traditional Tejano with rock 'n' roll, country, gulf coast R&B, and Tex-Mex, their unique sound attracts people from all different backgrounds.

Growing up along the Texas/Mexico border, band members David Jimenez and Dante Schewbel listened to all kinds of different music. Inspired by musicians like Freddy Fender, Los Lobos, and the Texas Tornados, the duo decided they wanted to make music from a very young age. They teamed up with Anthony Ferrell, Nico Leophonte, and Andrew Trube and began writing and recording songs.

Nuevo plays music with passion and soul, forging connections through the power of sound. "Music is the last bit of magic that I still believe in," says guitarist David Jimenez. "Being able to heal myself and others at the same time is what makes music so special."

Nuevo makes its way to Houston to open for Los Lobos on May 14th at the Heights Theater. Their music is available on all streaming platforms and on their website NuevoMusica.com.
