Sharon’s passion for animals has led her down a fulfilling path of helping both pets and their owners. From her early days caring for hamsters, turtles, cats, and dogs, she always felt a strong connection to animals and a desire to ensure their safety. Her volunteering experience with the Paws on Parole Program allowed her to develop this passion further. Yet, it was an unfortunate experience involving poor advice about feeding their diabetic dog that inspired her to pursue a career in animal care and led her to open Earthwise Pet Jonesville.
Sharon finds immense satisfaction in helping cats and dogs with nutritional needs and witnessing the positive changes she brings into their lives. She dedicates time to the Cuff and Collars Program, a prison-based initiative where dogs are trained by inmates at the Lancaster Correctional Institution before being made available for adoption. Sharon volunteers weekly at the prison, assisting the inmates with dog training. She believes the program benefits not only the dogs but also the inmates, providing them with valuable skills and a sense of purpose. Sharon’s story is a testament to her unwavering commitment to animals and the positive impact she continues to make in their lives.
