My Personal Trainer

The Affordable Option for Personal Training

In these times, none of us need a reminder of how important our health is. It’s probably safe to say that we all have been affected in one way or another by the COVID-19 virus. Our social life has a very different look today than what it did on New Year’s Day. Our recreational activities have been a little harder to access and enjoy as well. Instead of taking the kids or grandkids to a trampoline park or gaming center, many people are now thinking of more solitary activities to enjoy like going for walks and bike rides in the Metropark trails or around the neighborhood.

It’s going to take a little while for the public to get used to being back in large social settings without thinking about germs or being too close to someone out of fear of getting sick. A lot of us have put our workout regiment on hold for this reason, but unless we continue to take care of our bodies and our health, we are only making ourselves more susceptible to illness. But what do we do about it?  Go back to the crowds at the gym? Try to keep fit at home with minimal equipment or work out to a video with your kid’s interrupting you every three minutes? Maybe so, however, one very convenient solution to this issue could be to work out with a personal trainer in a smaller, cleaner, more intimate studio-like environment. My Personal Trainer recently opened the doors to their fifth location on February 1, in Medina and would love the opportunity to help you start or get back to working out again.

Eric Schaefer, owner and one of the trainers at My Personal Trainer, has tapped into a formula for success that allows people who never thought they could afford a personal trainer to start working out and see amazing results with just two 20-minute workouts per week. My Personal Trainer offers its clients three very simple, yet very important, benefits with their service: convenience, affordability and results. With plans that range from $69-$149, it provides a one-on-one training experience that fits most schedules with flexible appointment-only sessions.

“You don’t need a lot of time in the gym to get great results,” Eric says. “Twenty minutes, twice a week, is really all you need with our expert trainers. You can get five times faster results with us than you can by doing it on your own.”

Eric says that he has clients who range in age from 11 to 93-years-old, but the majority of his customers are between the ages of 45-75. As with most gyms or spas, the majority of My Personal Trainer’s clients are looking for a lifestyle change or they want to lose weight and keep it off.  However, the key to reaching both of these goals is longevity and, as we all know, starting a workout program and sticking to it is a real challenge.

The biggest motivator for most is actually seeing results from the work you are putting into your workout program. My Personal Trainer is thriving in this area because they succeed in providing a results-driven program for their clients. With just 40 minutes per week, customers are seeing results; they notice changes in their body and the way they feel, and that’s what keeps them coming back.

“We want to put lean, figure-shaping, calorie-burning, energizing muscle in your body,” Eric explains. And by sticking to it, that’s what people are seeing. This is probably the reason that My Personal Trainer has a 70 percent client retention rate.

Results will keep a lot of people coming back to the gym, but Schaefer will be quick to tell you that most people’s reason for joining or renewing their membership usually comes back to price. “There are others who do what we do, but I would say that our pricing is what sets us apart from the competition,” he says. “When most people think of personal trainers, they usually think expensive, pricey, short-term, etc. They think, ‘I’m not gonna be able to keep this up.’  But whether you are physically fit or you've never touched a weight in your life, we can work with you. And we can do it for as little as $69 a month!”
