My Town: Mallory Goldman

For Mallory Goldman, great style starts with real life. The content creator, writer and founder of the Substack Catching Up has built a loyal following by sharing her approachable yet elevated fashion sense, honest storytelling and the everyday moments that resonate with readers everywhere. "I love helping women build wardrobes that feel effortless and wearable," Goldman says. "My goal has always been to make getting dressed feel less overwhelming and to create a community that feels like catching up with a friend." She has also candidly shared her experience navigating motherhood and life with an autoimmune disease, bringing honesty and authenticity to everything she creates. A native of Tenafly, New Jersey, and a USC graduate, Goldman started her family in Pacific Palisades with her husband, Ben, their son, Shep, and their dog, Sadie. After losing their home in the January 2025 wildfire, they found a fresh start in Brentwood, where walks to coffee, afternoons at the park and time with friends at the Country Mart have become part of their new chapter. "Brentwood feels like the best of LA," she says. "It has such a neighborhood feel while still being close to everything. It's been really special watching our son grow up here and getting to build new traditions as a family." Here, Goldman shares a few of her favorite local spots. mallykgoldman.com

Bread Head truly has the best sandwiches on the westside. My favorite is the Calabrian Turkey, but you really can’t go wrong with any of them. I also love their Arnold Palmers!” 1518 Montana Ave., Santa Monica; 424-238-2322; breadheadla.com

“I’m so excited that Go Greek just opened in Brentwood. I love their Greek honey yogurt. As a special treat, I’ll Postmates it, and they package all of the toppings on the side.” 11677 San Vicente Blvd., Suite 117; 424-248-3997; gogreekyogurt.com

“Half of my wardrobe is made up of Dôen. We’re so lucky to have one right in Brentwood so we can try on all the new pieces right when they drop!” 225 26th St., Suite 4; 877-756-7353; shopdoen.com
