For My Ultimate Garage, the garage is not an afterthought—it’s a foundation.
Founded and owned by Matt Molander and his son, Dripping Springs High School graduate Gabriel Molander, My Ultimate Garage is redefining how homeowners think about one of the most overlooked spaces in the house. Through custom epoxy flooring, tailored storage solutions, and fully personalized layouts, the team transforms cluttered garages into clean, functional, and design-forward extensions of the home.
For Matt, building a business in Dripping Springs carries deep meaning. “It’s an amazing feeling of gratitude,” he says. “Great town, great people—now a great opportunity to build a hometown business.”
Like many successful local companies, My Ultimate Garage didn’t begin with a formal business plan. It began with a phone call.
“A friend called and wanted help organizing his garage,” Matt recalls. “He asked if I knew anyone who could help. Because of my 25 years of experience in construction, I told him I could do it.” The friend shared his vision, the work was completed, and My Ultimate Garage was born.
What became immediately clear was the untapped potential of the space. “The garage is neglected,” he explains. “It has so much potential and can add real value to a home.”
That realization shaped the company’s focus: helping homeowners rethink their garages as purposeful, valuable parts of their homes.
The family is no stranger to collaboration, as Matt operates another business with Gabriel’s older brother and one of his sisters. “We just work well together,” Matt says. “It seemed like a natural fit.”
Father and son offer distinct strengths. “Gabriel brings work ethic, vision, and he’s teachable,” Matt says. “I bring experience.” Together, they blend fresh perspective with seasoned know-how.
Running a family business has its rewards and challenges. “The most rewarding part is succeeding together,” Matt explains. “The challenge is that even when the goal is the same, sometimes we have different ideas on how to get there.”
For many homeowners, garages are simply storage areas, but My Ultimate Garage helps clients see what’s possible. The most common request is familiar: “People tell us, ‘I want my garage to be more organized, but I don’t know where to start.’ That’s where we come in.”
My Ultimate Garage specializes in epoxy flooring, shelving, and custom systems. These solutions go far beyond off-the-shelf options. “We have the people and the connections for professional products and professional installation,” Matt says.
Their process is straightforward: understanding the client’s vision, on-site consultation, estimate and approval, scheduling, installation, and final walkthrough.
Educating clients also plays a key role. “For flooring, homeowners should look at heat rating, durability, and preparation techniques,” Matt explains. “For storage, looks aren’t everything. You have to consider how it will be used and what the budget is; then we match the customer with the right system.”
A favorite project involved a three-car garage featuring metallic epoxy flooring, a car lift, custom cabinetry, and a loft with a couch and television. Other transformations are even more unexpected. “One homeowner wanted a garage and dance studio,” Matt says. “We made that vision a reality.”
No two projects are alike, and this variety keeps the work rewarding. “We love it all,” he adds. “A satisfied client is our favorite project.”
Since launching, My Ultimate Garage has been warmly embraced by the local community. “Dripping Springs has been very receptive,” Matt says. “What we enjoy most is that we’re local. We’re neighbors.”
That shared sense of place builds trust and connection. Clients aren’t just hiring contractors; they’re working with fellow community members.
Growth is on the horizon: “Outdoor kitchens and backyard spaces are next,” Matt says.
Still, the core philosophy remains the same. “It’s not just a garage,” he explains. “It’s an extension of your home.” Regardless of neighborhood or style, homeowners want usable, clean spaces that add value.
As for the ultimate garage, Matt puts it simply: “It’s the homeowner’s vision. We want our clients to say, ‘This is my ultimate garage.’ We love providing the solution.”
And when the project is finished, success is easy to spot: “The smile on their face. That’s better than any compliment we can get.”
In Dripping Springs, that combination of craftsmanship, honesty, and family-driven values is turning garages into points of pride.

Value by Design
“Most people think of their garages as storage,” Matt says. “They don’t know what’s possible, or they think they can’t afford upgrades.” To help bridge that gap, the team provides clear visual guidance. “We give clients a vision for the space and create 3D renderings so they can actually see it.”
The transformation often delivers strong returns. “The cost of transforming your garage is much less than the value it adds to the home,” Matt notes.
A well-designed garage changes daily life. “When you pull into your driveway, press the garage door opener, and the door opens, you smile,” Matt says. “You pull into the garage and feel proud.” Clean spaces tend to stay that way. “When people have a space that’s clean and organized, they respect it.”
