New Chesterfield Home Community to Become Available in April

Fienup Farms Includes 26-Acre Lake, Paddle Boating, Fishing

A new master-planned development of luxury single-family homes, with exceptional amenities for healthy lifestyles and a grand sense of community, is now available in a prime area of Chesterfield.

McBride Homes' teams are building out the company's 223-acre Chesterfield property called Fienup Farms, which is located off Wild Horse Creek Road, approximately 1 mile east of Long Road. Home lot pricing ranges from $440,000 to $2 million.

“This is one of the most coveted and beautiful pieces of ground in West St. Louis County,” says John Eilermann Jr., McBride CEO and chairman.

John says they deliberately preserved the existing 26-acre lake and 50-plus acres of surrounding common ground.

"There won't be any homes backing to Wild Horse Creek Road to uphold the beautiful lake view from the road, and the homesites will be clustered toward the center of the property. There were a lot of proposals for this property that included covering the lake, but we really wanted to conserve it and make it a recreational amenity that neighbors could enjoy,” he says.

The new subdivision is named after Fienup Lake, which was previously owned by the family of W.G. Fienup, inventor of the pop-open biscuit can that led to Pillsbury’s Poppin’ Fresh Dough Boy. Fienup, the former president of R.C. Can Co. of St. Louis, was 93 years old when he died in 2013.

This new Chesterfield residential development includes McBride’s award-winning Oakwood series of homes. Two elaborate community pavilions will include stone fireplaces, public restroom facilities and a large fire pit with circle seating. Recreational activities include a paddle boat dock and two fishing docks at the lake, walking or jogging trails and four pickleball courts interspersed throughout the community. Family-oriented spaces include a community garden with lockers, a playground and two tot lots for younger children. The generous amount of common ground breathes even more green space into the overall residential areas.

Four other St Louis builders are involved in this development: Consort Homes, Fischer & Frichtel, Prestige Custom Homes and Claymont Development.

Starting in April, Fienup Farms display open houses will be available daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 17098 Wild Horse Creek Road.

“We’ve had a lot of community involvement throughout our planning process of this development. One of our main goals in this creation has been to support existing Chesterfield retail, schools, churches and local franchises,” John says.

Additionally, this past August, McBride Homes opened a state-of-the-art design studio in Chesterfield Valley at 17401 N. Outer 40 Road. Homebuyers can make personal selections at the 10,000-square-foot studio, which provides a centralized location to personalize a dream home.
