On June 12, True Sky Credit Union opened its fourth branch in Cleveland County. Like its predecessors, planners incorporated the latest technologies to make transactions as convenient, safe—even educational and entertaining—as possible.
I recently spoke with True Sky Vice President of Marketing and Community Development Jon Skelly, who talked about the newest branch and its offerings and also shared some other positive credit union news.
What options will True Sky customers have for making various transactions at the new branch?
This new branch features some new technology designed to provide exceptional service (and a little bit of fun!) to all our credit union members. First, we have replaced the traditional drive-through service with two brand-new interactive teller machines, or ITMs. These ITMs resemble traditional ATMs, with one very specific difference: members can video chat with an ITM teller and perform all of the same functions that can be done at a teller station inside, all from the safety and comfort of their car. Make a deposit or loan payment or ask for cash in specific denominations...these machines can do all of that. This branch also features our brand-new touch screen desks where members can meet with one of our Member Service Officers to open accounts, apply for loans or service their existing accounts while reviewing, accepting and signing all the necessary paperwork on the desk’s touchscreen surface.
You mentioned new fun and educational features?
Members and guests may get free drinks from a touchscreen soda fountain. We’ve also added iPads with financial education games designed for our littlest members and a huge video wall that keeps our members informed, engaged and educated. Plus, we have an air traffic control tower that lights up at night in honor of our 75 years of history serving FAA employees.
Any other True Sky Credit Union good news?
Yes! Our CEO, Sean Cahill, was recently named to The Journal Record’s Most Admired CEO list. The honorees were recognized in a virtual celebration June 28 and profiled in a commemorative magazine inserted into The Journal Record on June 29.
In addition, True Sky recently was recognized with the Louise Herring Award, given to credit unions across the nation that demonstrate the internal application of credit union philosophy to help better financial matters and increase financial education for its members. We won this award for a program we implemented during the last several federal furloughs.
