For Rhi Newman, giving back is simply part of being a local business owner. Newman & Co.’s story is closely connected to the New Braunfels community, and for Rhi, giving back is a natural way to thank the people who have been part of that story.
Several local organizations are especially close to her heart, including the Children’s Advocacy Center of Comal County, the Crisis Center of Comal County, and Pink Warrior Advocates. Each serves people facing very different circumstances, from helping children affected by abuse to supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and providing financial, emotional, and advocacy support to those facing breast cancer.
Bras for a Cause, Oakwood Church, and New Braunfels Christian Academy also hold a special place in Rhi's heart. Each has given her another meaningful way to stay connected to the community and give back to the people around her.
“It’s supporting the people and organizations that provide [the support] for the success of our business,” Rhi says. For her, giving back also comes with a sense of gratitude for being in a position to help.
That same gratitude extends to the people closest to her. When asked what she is most thankful for this year, Rhi points first to her family, who were there for her through what she describes as one of the most difficult years of her life.
The new Newman & Co. location was two years in the making, and her family was there through the stress and long days that came with it.
She is equally grateful for the team who kept Newman & Co. running while so much of her attention was focused on getting the new location open.
“I would have to say that I’m most thankful for my staff and how committed they are to their positions and the continued success of the business,” she says.
With Rhi spending so much time away from the day-to-day business, her team stepped up and kept things moving. Without them, she says, it would have been chaotic.
“It really got talked about for so long,” she says of the new space. “It was almost like, is it ever really going to happen?”
Now, after years of planning and plenty of anticipation, it has. The new location has brought a fresh rhythm to the business. Expanded space gives providers their own treatment rooms, creates more room for the team, and allows them to welcome guests in a more organized environment. The new location was designed to accommodate additional treatment rooms, expanded services, more retail space, and other amenities.
For Rhi, though, one of the biggest rewards is something much simpler: seeing everything finally have a place.
“I’m just excited that we’re able to give this type of experience,” she says.
Looking ahead, Newman & Co. plans to continue growing its team and services, with an emphasis on helping clients feel their best across face, skin, body, and wellness. For Rhi, that growth goes beyond adding treatments. It is about creating a place where people can walk in, feel cared for, spend a little time focusing on themselves, and leave feeling good.
After two challenging years of planning and building, the doors are finally open. And for Rhi, this next chapter is about more than a new space. It is about the people who stood beside her, the team who helped carry the business forward, and the New Braunfels community that has been part of the story from the start.
