When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted campus life, AJ Nocera was midway through his junior year at the University of Florida. Naturally reserved yet deeply driven, he initially took the upheaval in stride. But as weeks stretched into months and the university remained closed, the confines of his apartment began to wear on him.
After discussing the situation with his parents, Laurie and JR Nocera, AJ decided to return home to Naples, where life was far less restricted. There, he resumed his studies remotely—continuing his education while rediscovering a sense of normalcy.
It wasn’t long before AJ’s ambition pushed him beyond the virtual classroom. Inspired by the Nocera family work ethic, he expressed a desire to join the family business after completing his online coursework. Recognizing his son’s potential, his father encouraged him to pursue a new path—one that would soon define his future: automotive painting.
What began as a learning experience quickly evolved into a career. In just four years, AJ has risen to become one of the top painters at Supreme Collision, earning a reputation for precision and excellence in Naples, Florida’s competitive high-end collision industry.
Outside the shop, AJ enjoys spending time in the gym and with his dog, humorously named Arnie Swartzinweiner. Looking ahead, he plans to transition into the front office of the family business, continuing to build on the foundation laid before him.
His success, as those close to him will tell you, “IS NOT BY ACCIDENT”—it’s the result of dedication, discipline, and a relentless drive to grow.
