Oh La La

A petit slice of France at Resto L’Antoinette

Resto L’Antoinette, co-founded by Leonardo Moura and Chef Jamie Adams, with Chef Jeffrey Gomez as head chef and David Conavay as general manager, is a culinary haven where passion, inspiration, and exquisite flavors come together to create an unparalleled dining experience.

L’Antoinette is a heartfelt celebration of exceptional women who play a significant role in Leonardo and Jamie’s lives. The restaurant pays homage to inspiring figures, including Leonardo’s wife Antoinette, a symbol of strength and boundless love, and Chef Jamie’s wife, Kim is a cardiac nurse embodying resilience. The narrative extends further to honor other extraordinary women such as mentors, designers, and family members who have left an indelible mark on their lives. Each dish served at Resto L’Antionette carries the spirit of these remarkable women, weaving captivating stories that resonate with every guest.

We caught up with General Manager David Conavay to find out more.

Sue G. Collins: The restaurant is so grand, with embellishments and thoughtfully curated art including a 20-foot pastoral mural on the back wall of a farm landscape. What other notable pieces are in the dining room?

David Conavay: That would be Anna Razumovskaya’s “Aurora in Red,” purchased at Vining’s Gallery in Roswell from our friend, the lovely Mary Bayus. The artist set an ever-lasting impression on owner Leonardo Moura and his family at her featured show in February with her impressive array of work. Unbeknownst to his children, Leonardo had purchased this piece and it was unveiled at a soiree with fellow collectors and loyal clients at Resto L’Antoinette the following week. During the celebration Leonardo gave an emotional speech about the experience and dedicated the piece to his son.

SGC: What decor choices contribute to the elegance of the space?

DC: Vivian Patrie, owner of Vivian Leigh Interiors, designed this space to have grace and elegance featuring chandeliers, fine art, and fully dressed white tablecloth tables. The bar features a Patagonia-green quartz top, crystal and etched glassware, and custom welded rod-iron shelves.

SGC: For someone new to French dining, what quintessential dishes are on your menu?

DC: confit de Canard, maple leaf duck leg confit, lentil cassoulet, Lucca tapenade, consommé a l'oignon Francais, French onion consommé (with Vidalia onions, brioche, Gruyére), sole façon colbert, Dover sole (with tournée potatoes, baby spinach, beurre noisette).

SGC: And, of course, the service is exquisite!

DC: Yes. Chef Jeffrey Gomez is a classically trained chef with a long history of excellence in the Atlanta area. From Buckhead Life, Haven, and Anis’ to name a few, Chef Gomez features dishes that express elegance and balance through a wide variety of flavor profiles. Chef Gomez’s creativity and touch with his cuisine translates the spirit of inspiration we are trying to convey at Resto L’Antoinette.

Our wait-staff thrives for excellence and to bring the guest a truly unique experience for Milton and the surrounding area. Whether the guest needs a guided tour through the menu or a helpful suggestion for the perfect wine pairing; Lyndsey, Ryan and Nolan are there to make every guest experience memorable with their genuinely humbled hospitality.

SGC: What can diners expect this month?

DX: The main feature on the calendar will be the St. Cosme Wine Dinner on September 17th featuring wines from Rhone Valley, France such as Chateauneuf du Pape, Hermitage, and Cote de Rhone. Guests enjoy a five-course dinner paired perfectly with the wines alongside friends and neighbors.
