There’s nothing like indulging in food so good and vibes so magnetic that you can’t help but feel fancy, even on a regular weeknight. This time, Lestari and I decided to remind ourselves that a little splurge never hurt anybody. Our grand plan? A girls' night out at Fogo de Chão, OKC’s sleek new Brazilian steakhouse. Spoiler alert: This wasn’t just a dinner—it was a full-blown event.
After clocking in some major life wins—Lestari crushed her PR duties for the Oklahoma City Ballet’s production of Swan Lake, while I proudly survived teaching life on a Monday (serious victory, folks)—we swapped work mode for glam goddess.
Bring on the bold lipstick, a few hair flips and the ultimate cherry on top—walking into Fogo de Chão and being met with the warmest smile from GM Alcione Fronza Gomes. Oh, and did I mention he welcomed us with their Caipirinha Flight? That instantly won him MVP status for the night.
Talk about starting the night on a high note! That first round of cocktails was the emergency mini-vacation for our taste buds that we very much needed.
Sip & Savor - Fogo de Chão
If you’re wondering what to order, here’s what we indulged in—and what you definitely shouldn’t miss.
Cocktails
Caipirinha Flight:
Traditional Caipirinha – Silver Cachaça, muddled limes and cane sugar. Refreshing and zesty, it’s a classic for a reason.
Strawberry Hibiscus – Sweet, floral, bright and oh-so-pretty!
Passion Fruit – Tangy tropical escape in a glass.
Starters
Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail – Big, bold and juicy
Grilled White Cheddar Cheese with Malagueta Honey – Sweet & savory cheesy heaven.
Cheesy Rolls (Pão de Queijo) – Soft, dreamy little pillows of cheesy goodness
Crispy Polenta
Caramelized Bananas
Mains
Grade A5 Australian Wagyu – OMG! THIS WAS THE MOMENT!!! She was absolutely life-changing! Aged for 21 days to perfection, mouthwatering, oh so tender, oh so juicy, oh so smooth, and oh so flavorful! Served atop a sizzling Himalayan salt block.
Full Churrasco Experience (All-you-can-meat extravaganza!):
Picanha – Prime top sirloin with a melt-in-your-mouth crust.
Bone-in Ribeye – Bold, juicy and deeply satisfying.
Sides
Mashed Potatoes – Creamy and dreamy
Desserts
Crème Brûlée (Mel’s go-to) – Crackly sugar topping meets rich vanilla custard. Swoon-worthy.
Tres Leches Cake (Lestari’s pick) – Moist vanilla sponge cake with toasted meringue; it’s what sweet dreams are made of.
Key Lime Pie – Tart and refreshing with a graham cracker crust to die for.
By dessert, Lestari and I had officially declared the A5 Australian Wagyu king of the night. Throughout the evening, the energy and warmth of our friendship never changed. We kept laughing, vowed to keep loving, and finally raised a glass to keep living our best life to the fullest.
But honestly? Fogo feels less like a one-off outing and more like the kind of spot that turns a random Monday into something unforgettable.
Until Next Month!
OKC fam, if you haven’t been yet, this is your sign—gather your foodie besties, order the Wagyu, and toast with a Caipirinha (or three). Trust us, you’ll regret leaving without trying both.
