On Our Radar: Toro Toro

Highly anticipated Pan-Latin steakhouse Toro Toro, from chef Richard Sandoval, opens in the Four Seasons Hotel.

Ubiquitous chef Richard Sandoval recently debuted Toro Toro at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Houston. Toro Toro is a modern take on Brazilian churrascaria and focuses on steak and seafood with Latin American flavors. The restaurant is Sandoval's sixth Toro Toro location, with others located in Doha, Miami, Ft. Worth, Chicago, Dubai, and Washington D.C.

Many of the dishes at the upscale restaurant are meant to be shared, and several are presented tableside. Guests will enjoy a variety of offerings from the curated menu, including hearty plates like a 52-ounce prime tomahawk steak, South Texas antelope, or a  Colorado lamb chop. Toro Toro also offers sushi and ceviche at the "Suviche Bar" along with several delicious seafood options.

"Toro Toro menus are about 30 percent what is local to the community," said Sandoval. "We collaborate with the local team to figure out what is best for the city. I like to take guests on a roller coaster of flavors by incorporating a lot of different textures and flavors in each dish."
