I may be a regional magazine publisher, but I believe my true calling in life was to lead a biker gang. I’d have named my gang something intimidating, such as “Frowning Dudes” or “The Big Nasties.” We would barrel down lonesome highways together, with no man to call our master and no horizon too distant for our hogs to reach.
Thank you, Pedego, for allowing me to live out a fraction of my fantasy.
It was a fine spring day, with air crisp and sweet as the chips in a scoop of mint chocolate ice cream. I’d assembled a crew at Pedego of Eden Prairie consisting of myself, my beautiful wife Shannon, and eight great friends. Pedego had prepared for our arrival by lining up ten perfectly sized e-bikes: graceful, futuristic devices, each with a light, quiet motor that gobbles up as much pedal work as its rider commands.
“BRUMMM, B-R-RUMMM” I thought to myself, manipulating the throttle on my e-bike like it belonged to a 1,200cc sled. The simulation wasn’t quite one-to-one, though accelerating from zip to 20 in one steady v-v-v-wip is plenty exhilarating in its own right.
Our Pedego rep played a phenomenal guide. They led us across a two-hour trek through the world’s best scenery (i.e. Eden Prairie’s), answered our many questions about e-bikes, and laughed at all of our clever observations.
My advice? Assemble your own biker gang at Pedego and experience the same thrill we all did. Words cannot describe the niftiness of pedal assist, which lets a rider exert exactly as much effort as they care to. It’ll make you feel like you were…
