Among the many talented students at The Guitar Sanctuary’s Performance Academy are a brother and sister who have attended the Academy for several years. According to Shane Frame, as he describes the duo, says he does not remember ever having such a talented pair of siblings. But he also emphasizes what outstanding performers they are as individuals as well.
Natalia will be a Freshman at Boyd High School this fall yet has already not only become a star musician at the Academy but also has written over ten songs. She plays the viola, guitar, and piano. Her influences in music have included some oldies such as The Beatles and The Bee Gees, but another young and multi-talented female, the Canadian, Alessia Cara. When not involved with her music, Natalie enjoys ice skating, riding her bike while also playing on the school’s tennis team. Her favorite subject in school is mathematics. Felipe is an outstanding pianist while also playing the violin and guitar. He attends Dowell Middle School and will be in the 8th grade this fall. Luckily, for the parents’ ears, Felipe initially wanted to play the drums but was coerced into the piano. Along with Natalia’s influences by the Beatles and The Bee Gees, Felipe lists Imagine Dragons as an inspiration. He apparently passes time tinkering with things since he strives to become an engineer. Oh, and be careful as this young man, while very polite, is a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwan Do.
In meeting the family, you learn that Rogerio and Fabiola, the parents, have had a great influence on the youngsters. While Natalia and Felipe were born in the US, their parents immigrated from Brazil. Rogerio plays the guitar and Fabiola had a band that played a lot of R&B and Pop. Then you learn that not only did they get their talents and love for music from their parents, but their mother is an accomplished mathematician, thus their appreciation for the mathematical sciences!
The family loves living in McKinney with their adopted, 6-year-old Maltese, Jackson. With all this talent surrounding him, you can’t help but wonder if Jackson can’t do something musically!
