Party for a Cause

Have fun, celebrate a job well done and support a good cause with one (or all!) of these deserving fundraising galas happening in November and December in Mason.

CancerFree KIDS Celebration of Champions Annual Dinner

CancerFree KIDS was founded by Ellen and Sam Flannery in 2005 after their daughter was diagnosed with cancer at 5 months of age. Today, thanks to cancer research, she is a recent college graduate. Since its inception, CancerFree KIDS has funded 148 research projects totaling nearly $5.3 million.

At the Celebration of Champions 2019 dinner, hosted by Local 12’s Bob Herzog and John Gumm, guests will enjoy food, beer and wine, silent and live auctions, raffles, fund-a-grant and a tribute featuring young champions. The 2018 event raised $400,000 to fund research for better treatments and cures.

Infinite Chance MasquerAID

While teaching in Guatemala, Infinite Chance founder Daniela Weaver discovered Hogar Miguel Magone, a home to about 100 abandoned or neglected children. In Guatemala, the government does not provide funding for these homes, and the barriers to education are high. For Daniela, the ticket out of poverty is education. “We’re trying to create opportunities for these kids so they can lift up their communities,” she says.

Infinite Chance became a 501(c)(3) organization in January 2019, and the MasquerAID Gala is its first official large-scale fundraising event. The goal is to provide the means for each child to attend school every year and to kick-off building a trade school for Hogar Miguel Magone and surrounding villages to create long-term opportunities for the children.
