At the heart of Peak Place is warmth, beverages and conversation. This coffee shop, with its breathtaking view of the Front Range, has built a community inside of its doors.
A Different "Gap Project"
In 2013, Grace Harrison saw a gap in the neighborhood near Academy and Montebello. She set her sights on opening a gathering place inside of the Peak Lifestyle Center development at Academy and Montebello. A place where coworkers and moms alike could enjoy a steaming cup of coffee. A place with plenty of quiet, cozy nooks for unplugging or for meeting a deadline.
"Our aim is to create a space in which selfless acts are the norm, and trust becomes natural," according to the website.
With Grace’s heart and an incredible team alongside her, they have done just this.
In the Beginning...
At Peak Place’s start, nearby neighbors were the primary customers. As time has passed and our city has grown, however, new faces visit regularly. It’s the only place like it for miles and when you walk through the door, it feels familial in the deep ways.
Years into providing an approachable atmosphere for guests, Grace decided to expand the shop’s business into a roastery, as well: Hold Fast Coffee. This created an opportunity for the team to take control over the flavor of their most-served beverage for an even more intentional experience.
“We want the best spot, with the best coffee to be shared together,” Grace explained.
In addition to Peak Place, you can find Hold Fast Coffee roasts in small shops like Bread & Butter downtown, Carnelian Coffee Company, Good Neighbors and Rosco’s. It’s supporting local, twice. What a win.
A Final Note
While coffee is the star here, it's happy to share the stage with beer, wine, and "delightful food."
Try the "Dawn Patrol" with your choice of egg, pastrami or ham and swiss cheese, served on a rye bagel with red pepper jelly. Or perhaps a "cortado." If you haven't tried one, it's an espresso mixed with roughly the same amount of warm milk to reduce the acidity. Ready to wrap up the day? Maybe a Trail Snack Lager is more your speed.
Peak Place prices are great, too! Check out their menu.
Whatever you choose, it's sure to brighten your day. So stop on by, grab a comfortable chair and enjoy the view.
