Minneapolis Health Clinic Provides Customized Care

As the practice of medicine is ever-changing and evolving, how does this impact you? Good healthcare and the ability to determine the best fit for you and your family has never been more important.  Dr. Grace Totoe of Minneapolis Health Clinic in Golden Valley has taken a fresh and more human approach to treating patients. Her practice emphasizes more time to really listen and respond with individual attention to each person she cares for.  The Minneapolis Health Clinic offers a variety of healthcare services that cater to busy professionals as well as their families. These in-demand services range from primary care to weight management, allergy testing to dietary needs, pre-op and disability evaluations, to pre-employment evaluations, as well as providing valuable second opinions for critical medical decisions.

Born, raised, and educated in Ghana, West Africa, Dr. Totoe graduated medical school and came to the United States to complete her medical residency with St. Mary’s Hospital in Connecticut, a Yale University affiliate.  After her residency program, she moved to Minnesota for a transfusion medicine fellowship.  But, after finishing her fellowship, she was moved to pursue hospital medicine as an internist.  She is now board-certified, and has worked in various hospital systems in Minnesota including Mayo Clinic, North Memorial Medical Center, and Health Partners to name just a few.  She currently holds her medical license in the states of Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Dr. Totoe was inspired to start her own clinic in 2018. It was important to her to work for herself and allow flexibility with her time on both the personal and professional side.  Rather than risking possible burn-out in a hectic hospital atmosphere, she has committed to providing innovative, quality care without the typical time constraints.  Dr. Totoe emphasizes that she “doesn’t want you to feel rushed” when coming to see her.  She focuses on personalized medicine; being able to tailor patient care towards a patient’s risk factors.  This includes analyzing the client’s health portfolio, current state, and family history.  As a member of the Society of Lifestyle Medicine, Dr. Totoe works to provide lifestyle medicine with a holistic approach where each patient can achieve their short and long-term health goals.

Unlike most clinics, Minneapolis Health Clinic is set up to cater to two models of clients- those with and without health insurance, including out of state travelers. The practice provides concierge medical services to busy executives in need of a flexible schedule while providing them ample time to share their health concerns and goals. Visiting an independent clinic has major advantages such scheduling an appointment at a time most convenient for the patient, getting more doctor-to-patient face time, deepening the quality of care, taking time for health planning, and offering access to visit notes that can be referenced at any time as needed.

Dr. Totoe’s team includes herself, two family nurse practitioners, and a medical assistant.  As an internist, Dr. Totoe does not see children, so her Nurse Practitioner provides this same quality of personalized care for infants and children.  In response to community needs and patient requests, there are plans to add Urgent Care services in the near future.

Minneapolis Health Clinic provides state of the art telemedicine services accessible by phone, tablet/iPad or desktop computer without a patient ever needing to leave the comfort of their home. Appointments can be scheduled at the website, by calling or texting the clinic number at 763-496-5708. Clients can access their encounter notes for future use.

Dr. Totoe prides herself with an innate ability to connect with people; she is described as empathetic, calm and patient in all her interactions.   She endeavors to help her clients meet their health goals by providing quality care to the best of her capabilities.

When asked about what one should look for when selecting a healthcare provider, Dr. Totoe’s gives advice for finding a good physician, “Seek out a provider who will be patient and listen. Get extra information from online reviews. Also, make sure your doctor is experienced and specializes in the services you need at the time. With the current trends in medicine, I think everyone will benefit from personalized medicine and that is what a practice like the Minneapolis Health Clinic can provide”.
