Do your best. Seems cliché, but that usually puts it into perspective for me because I am usually hard on myself (like we all are) for not doing better, and sometimes fall into the trap of comparing myself to my past self on a better day, or even comparing myself to others. Doing my best just means literally doing the best job I possibly can at that given moment, which I find I perform better than if I’m thinking “I should be doing better than I currently am” or “this isn’t good enough." It puts it into perspective for me because that’s literally all anyone can really do – is their best.

In my opinion, a father is the foundation and bedrock of our lives. He is the compass for our future, guiding us through the good, bad, and sad. He applauds our successes with a love that's hard to understand as children, but we know he’s always there. My Pops was, and is, the strongest, most loyal, and best influence in my life. His advice to love my mother unconditionally, be there for my family, and treat others with respect has stayed with me. When I first told my Dad I was starting my business, he said to always under promise and over deliver. Nobody cares that you did what you were paid to do, but they will always remember when you go above and beyond what you promised. It was simple, but it really meant a lot to me because I knew it was his way of being supportive despite him thinking I was nuts for starting a business. He was right about both.
