Gaining Health Benefits Through Infrared Saunas at Perspire Sauna Studio

Infrared saunas prove their worth through health benefits like faster recovery, detoxing harmful chemicals, relaxation, boosting immunity and skin rejuvenation. Owners of the new Perspire Sauna Studio in Parker, Stephanie and Jason, saw it as a new way of helping the community.

“Just to hear stories that we’re not only bringing something beneficial to such an amazing community, but feel like we have done something good and we’re successful,” Stephanie shares about having an impact on the Parker community.

Jason, a veteran and firefighter, and Stephanie, a law enforcement officer, understand the importance of putting their lives on the line for the greater good. This new Perspire endeavor fits that description in a different way.

“One of our members has neuropathy,” Stephanie explains. “She comes every single day, and even within the first week, she was telling me she had sensation in her hands and her feet. It makes me emotional.”

The infrared saunas at Perspire use three wavelengths: near-, mid- and far-infrared. Having three sets of wavelengths allows deeper penetration into the skin, providing greater benefits for users.

“For instance, in a traditional sauna, you usually detox about two to three percent,” Stephanie explains. “An infrared sauna is about fifteen to twenty percent. So just the detoxification alone is amazing.”

Unlike traditional saunas, which heat the air, infrared saunas use light to heat the body from the inside out, creating a faux fever. The lower temperatures in an infrared sauna allow people to sit longer and reap the benefits. The result is a powerful immune response that fights infections and reduces inflammation.

“Inflammation is huge,” Stephanie says. “We were at Parker Days, and a guy walked up to us and mentioned his friend who was going to an infrared sauna could now read the back of the shampoo bottle with the small print. They think it was due to inflammation that he couldn’t before.”

From a personal perspective, Stephanie attributes Perspire to helping her tremendously after a traumatic birth experience with her son, followed by multiple surgeries. It wasn’t until she started going to the infrared sauna that she felt her recovery start to happen.

“We were living in Castle Rock at the time,” Stephanie explains. “And I found the Castle Rock Perspire and started going there and fell in love with it. It was absolutely the thing that I needed to get over that hump and plateau. I felt like my recovery sped up tremendously.”

She goes on to say, “My mood was better. I felt like my stress level from being at work was better, and it just felt like it helped everything.”

It was then that she realized that owning a Perspire franchise was definitely in her future. Getting her husband on board wasn’t difficult, as the business model was simplistic and straightforward. When Jason started using the infrared sauna, he was astounded by the results.

“Being in the army,” Stephanie says. “He was deployed three times. He has TBI (traumatic brain injury), and he shattered his hand at one point. It [infrared sauna] has changed him, like he can tell the difference on the days he goes and the days he doesn’t.”

As a firefighter, Jason is often exposed to toxins, and the detoxification benefits of the infrared sauna help him tremendously.

“He was in a fire the other day,” Stephanie says. “He worked a 48-hour shift and showered twice. He came in immediately after the shift, and his towel, after he was sweating, was still black.”

With outstanding results like that, Stephanie and Jason want to help more people achieve the incredible benefits Perspire offers, especially first responders and the military.

“That’s where our heart is,” Stephanie explains. “That’s who we’d like to focus on, military and first responders, because I think too many of us go through life and see awful things or just have daily stress on top of work stress, and we just say, ‘I’m fine. I’m fine.’ Those 40 minutes just changed things. I didn’t realize how stressed I was until I consistently started going.”

Each sauna features towel service, including a cool eucalyptus towel and a shower to rinse off after treatment. A television in each space allows customers to watch a show or listen to calming music through the sauna's speaker system.

In addition to the saunas, Perspire offers Sno showers that take customers from heat therapy to cold therapy.

“Five of our rooms have what’s called a Sno Shower,” Stephanie explains. “It’s that contrast of therapies where your body is going from that faux fever, where your blood is going to extremities, to a sudden cold where your blood vessels constrict to bring blood back to your core. It’s 45 seconds at 45 degrees.”

This hot-to-cold change further reduces inflammation and brings oxygen back throughout the body as it warms. This process helps to increase recovery rates and brings mental clarity.

Perspire offers packages with 4, 8, or 20 sessions per month, with the option to roll over sessions for up to 3 months. They also offer monthly membership options ranging from 4 sessions to unlimited. The first single session to give it a try is only $20 for 40 minutes of relaxation, with mind-and-body health benefits.

For Stephanie, Perspire opened a door she didn’t realize she needed.

“When I have had great success with something, I’m really passionate about it and I can’t stop talking about it,” Stephanie laughs. “But not only for my personal growth and my recovery, but seeing my Grandma, who lives in Littleton, and she was driving over here, 30 minutes a day, which is not like her, but she was feeling better.”

"Those 40 minutes just changed things. I didn’t realize how stressed I was until I consistently started going.”

“For instance, in a traditional sauna, you usually detox about two to three percent. An infrared sauna is about fifteen to twenty percent. So just the detoxification alone is amazing.”
