Bathing and Grooming Eden Prairie's Beautiful Kitty Cats

Cool. Collected. Easy on the eyes. You couldn’t ask for a better cat than Moo Moo (pictured). But for all his blessings, Moo Moo has got one major design flaw.

“He’s covered in such long hair!” explained Kirsten Barott, Moo Moo’s human. “And despite his best attempts at personal hygiene, he does have a certain … ‘distinctive’ funk at times. (Please don’t tell him I said so.)”

Does Kirsten grit her teeth and resign herself to living with a smelly, matted cat? No! She does the sensible thing and brings Moo Moo to Pet Evolution instead.

“They may be mostly self-maintaining, but cats should still receive about three grooms a year,” explained Alex Apsey, business director and certified nutritionist for Pet Evolution of Eden Prairie. “They go outside. They’re low to the ground. They regularly occupy litter boxes. And when cats grow older or get certain medical conditions, they may lose the flexibility they need to groom themselves as well as they used to.

“Our trained and experienced groomers don’t just make cats beautiful. By trimming and removing so much excess hair and applying gentle, specially selected shampoos and skincare products, they also increase comfort, reduce shedding, and promote significantly better overall health.

“Cats are very sensitive to their surroundings, and they aren’t the world’s greatest fans of strange places or water. Our groomers do everything they’re able to keep cats relaxed: wrapping their necks in little towels to help them feel more secure, and constantly giving them reassuring words and scritches. They do wear ‘bite gloves’ during each cat’s first grooming session (or if a returning cat appears to be feeling a bit bitey that day). In extreme cases they’ll have the cat wear a clear plastic bulb around their head. It makes them look like a little ‘catsronaut.’ Very cute!”

“I swear they give me back a different cat after each grooming session,” said Kirsten. “He looks like a new man! And he seems to feel much cooler and more comfortable, too. I know Moo Moo also appreciates Pet Evolution’s huge selection of toys, treats, and premium foods which are devoid of corn, wheat, soy, animal by-products, and artificial colors. He is wild about those PetStages Mint Sticks!”
