Phineas Gage Specializes In Providing Contemporary And Casual Wear

One West Chester men's clothing and sportswear store staff focuses completely on offering new brands and classic looks. Each of the brands provided at Phineas Gage are picked based on the style, as well as the manufacturing companies' values and methods of production.

Phineas Gage owner Jaime Weisbrot says a lot of effort and time is put into finding the best brands for their customers, but they're always looking for new brands as well, based on consumers' preferences.

Current brands found at Phineas Gage include:  Alternative Apparel, Able Made, Citizens of Humanity, DL1961, Faherty, Grayer's, Joe's Jeans, Johnnie-O, Lucky Brand, O'Douds, Rodd & Gunn, Taylor Stitch,Topo Design and Vince.

Phineas Gage team members are currently working on launching their e-commerce site, so customers can shop more easily from home and to reach new customers.

In terms of fall trends, what they were expecting to see might actually be a little different now due to the coronavirus. "While we have a great selection of tailored clothing coming in, we're also now looking at more athletic and lounge wear," says Jaime.

She adds that they don’t anticipate things will quite be back to “normal” this fall, and that "the new normal of working from home" will continue. "We're constantly trying to adjust to the current environment and make sure we have the styles that meet our customers current needs," she vows.

Why The Name Phineas Gage?

Because Jaime knows a thing or two about individuality, luck and endurance, being a venturesome business owner by the age of 30.

The store's namesake, Phineas Gage, was a prominent man in history known for his improbable survival of a severe brain injury. (And by severe, they mean a hot, iron rod shooting through his skull.) The initial fluke would have ensured him fame, but his name was further engraved into history books as his case was the first to link brain trauma to personality changes. Phineas continued to evolve into different personalities as he lived.

So Phineas Gage -- the man and the store -- emanate perseverance and burgeoning adventure. And as the savvy Phineas remarked when he first went to the doctor after the accident, “Here is business enough for you.” He knew he was about to bring the excitement.

Likewise, the PG store team tries to infuse excitement into men's clothing selections with each purchase.
