Places to Play, Learn and Grow

Building a Better Community with Imagination in Mind, One Home at a Time

From hidden doors to climbing walls to indoor slides, lifelong Loveland resident John Hill knows a thing or two about having fun.

That’s because when he’s not busy taking on traditional construction projects (aka, moving mountains of pea gravel or excavating lots for new homes) with his John Hill Construction team, John can usually be found bringing indoor child-friendly areas to life.

“It’s easier if I think of my own kids or my grandkids,” John smiles. “We get a lot of inspiration from clients. Once we understand a vision, we can customize it for the space we’re working with—the details are for us to figure out!”

When asked further about his most dazzling dream-like playroom creations, John’s quick to add that his team has also completed customized study rooms, as well. “Creating something like that … for that time in a youngster’s life, and for them to enjoy it, a designated place to teach and learn—it means so much to create something that perfectly fits the people who are there to play, learn and grow.”

John says he’s just doing his part to build a better community.

“I’ve lived in Loveland all my life,” he says. “Our business is in its 25th year. We’re proud to have operated in Loveland all 25 of those years.” And he hopes to continue on for many more.

As a community leader, John has served on Loveland’s Storm Water Advisory Committee, the Redevelopment Advisory Committee, and the board of trustees for the Loveland Area Chamber of Commerce. He’s served as Loveland’s Golf Outing Committee Chairperson, and built the Joanne Richardson Library for the Loveland Historical Society.

He also has a hard-won reputation for utmost attention to detail. From the concept phase to finishing nails, John oversees each and every project with a close eye.

“Our clients entrust us to build their family home,” he explains. “We view that as a very personal process … and we take that trust seriously.”

Then, of course, there’s also a creative aspect to the work he does for kids spaces and play areas. “We love to apply creative yet budget-conscious solutions that give the homeowner both the look and functionality they want. Often when it comes to kid-friendly additions, they’re not really that costly, we just have to figure it out. I’ve been pleased with how affordable most of these projects can be.”

And about the importance of rethinking the way we play and learn at home?

“Our customers are entire families,” he says, smiling. “And that means the kids, too!”
