Each September, the color gold serves as a powerful reminder of the courage displayed by children and families facing childhood cancer. Each year, nearly 15,000 children and adolescents in the United States are diagnosed with pediatric cancer, uniting researchers, physicians, philanthropists, and communities in the shared mission of creating healthier futures for every child. Encouragingly, advances in research and treatment have increased five year survival rates to approximately 85 percent, yet thousands of families continue to face the emotional, physical, and financial realities of a childhood cancer diagnosis.
Inspired by both hope and purpose, acclaimed portrait photographer Erica Land, founder of ELP Gives Back, has partnered with Lindsey Wolf, owner of Sunset on Midsummer, to create a meaningful collaboration in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Throughout September, Sunset on Midsummer will become an immersive destination where art, fashion, and philanthropy converge. At the heart of the experience is a compelling portrait exhibition by Land featuring her Fierce Images dance ambassadors, young artists who have dedicated their voices and talents to raising awareness for childhood cancer. Through striking portraiture and heartfelt storytelling, the exhibition encourages visitors to look beyond a diagnosis and celebrate the resilience, joy, and extraordinary strength of children whose stories deserve to be seen.
The collaboration reflects a shared belief that beautiful spaces can inspire meaningful conversations and lasting impact. Guests will have opportunities to experience the exhibition, participate in fundraising initiatives benefiting Dance Hope Cure/Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foundation, and discover ways to support children and families navigating one of life’s most difficult journeys.
