Powering Community Through Legacy, Leadership, and Service

Kelly and Peter Meer lead a multigenerational business rooted in service, innovation, and lasting community impact

Peter Meer was born with fire in his veins. Whether serving as a Captain with the Roswell Fire Department for more than 20 years or leading his family’s legacy business as CEO of Meer Electric, he has built a life around harnessing and directing that powerful force.

That drive traces back to his grandfather, Frank Meer, in Wisconsin, who honed his craft and passed it down through generations; first to his sons, then to his grandsons. Today, three generations of the Meer families have proudly served their communities, bound by both skill and purpose.

Every successful venture is built on a strong partnership, where each person brings distinct strengths to the table. Peter found that partner in his wife, Kelly, who for the past 20 years has poured her heart into the business as if it were her own calling. Together, they have shared in the company’s growth and success while continuing to serve Roswell and the surrounding communities with their trusted expertise. Peter and Kelly Meer are part of a living legacy that extends far beyond electrical work that, for decades, has not only powered homes, but strengthened the community in ways that are difficult to measure.

Whether it's wiring homes for habitat for humanity, illuminating town squares for special events or supporting the Roswell football team, the Meer Electric family has always held community service in high regard. Kelly’s passion for service led her to start the Safety Town Program in partnership with the Roswell Parks Department, in 2004. Teaching four- to six-year-olds about street safety, stranger danger, and the roles of police officers and firefighters in helping those in need has grown into an initiative that has educated more than 12,000 children over the years. Safety Town is now an integral part of many preschool’s curriculum as they expose children to how their community functions. (Quote from Kelly about Safety Town.)

With Meer Electric’s long-standing success, it would be easy to rest on their laurels. Instead, Peter and Kelly have built a culture rooted in consistency and a relentless drive to keep evolving. For more than 40 years, Meer has delivered exceptional service while continually expanding its capabilities. In addition to its residential and commercial work, the company now offers EV charger and generator installations, nationwide weather siren installation and maintenance, and underground boring: an ever-growing portfolio that sets them apart.

“We are a very diverse electrical company. Not only do we specialize in residential and commercial service work, we also provide underground boring services, crane services, bucket truck services, we install tornado sirens all over the country, and we can bring power to any size event,” (Can this be attributed to Peter?)

Meer Electric’s commitment to quality and service has not gone unnoticed. The company has earned numerous community accolades, including Best Electrician of Alpharetta 2026, Best of East Cobb 2026, and Best Electrical Company by My Home Improvement Atlanta for two consecutive years. These honors speak to the trust Meer electric has built and the satisfaction of the communities they serve.

Looking to the future, Meer Electric remains firmly focused on forging ahead. The company plans to expand its divisions, invest in advanced equipment, and grow its team, while staying true to its core values. As a family-owned business, their mission is to deliver reliable, high-quality service while deepening the strong relationships they’ve cultivated within the community.
