Creating luxury that is both functional and practical could be described as Chris Kregger and Brent Gibson’s area of expertise. The pair have collaborated to create unforgettable, award-winning custom homes for more than a decade.
This past year, they brought their creative forces together to create a unique home in Edmond’s Montmartre housing addition that was a standout at the Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association's 2024 Fall Parade of Homes.
Chris is one of the owners of Infinity Custom Homes, and Brent has designed custom homes for over 35 years through his company, Brent Gibson Classic Home Design. When they decided to create the home in Montmartre, they drew inspiration from Chris’s recent trip to Spain.
“We like to start from the ground up and come up with a plan that we know will be a showstopper,” Chris explains. “We especially like to bring in influences from different cultures. I brought back inspiration and pictures from Spain to incorporate into this design.”
The team aimed to incorporate elements that are not often found in the local housing market. Their creative process allows them to explore ways to incorporate new ideas into lavishly designed spaces.
“Sometimes, my ideas may feel a little off the wall, but Brent has a way to turn them into something beautiful and timeless,” he continues. “I’ll come in with several plans that we have looked at in the past, and Brent pulls from those and then draws a new plan by hand. His skills bring a very unique element to our planning process.”
They collaborated with designer Jeana Glazier to pick out just the right finishes and fixtures to bring the space to life. The interior of the home features a striking fireplace with a Venetian plaster finish, tile imported from Spain, brass elements and stained woodwork that reflects the influence of Spanish history.
“I always look forward to designing a new home with new and innovative designs and concepts, knowing that it will be a Parade home, which will be a delight for many to see,” Brent explains. “I like to keep classic traditional architecture in the overall design of the home, but also like to add fresh, modern touches that today's home buyers are looking for.”
For the home in Montmartre, the home’s luxury was designed with practicality in mind. The kitchen island features an unusual and eye-catching countertop that Chris personally designed on-site. The three-quarter waterfall countertop includes quartzite, a custom brass inlay and white oak This one-of-a-kind element brings in features from other parts of the home to add beauty and cohesiveness.
“The fireplace is also one of my favorite things about the home. It is 24 feet tall and 10 feet wide, and it is very gorgeous and dramatic,” Chris adds. “I also love the vent hood above the range in the kitchen, which also has the Venetian plaster finish and a gorgeous, unique curvature. Every choice we made was to combine luxury and functionality.”
The home won first place overall in the 2024 Parade of Homes, as well as other honors including Best Floor Plan and Best Design. Chris says this recognition directly reflects both the beauty of the design and the extra touches intended to make the home functional and useful.
“Chris and Jeana did a superb job in the building of this home. It truly is a collaborative effort on behalf of our whole team,” Brent says.
Homeowner Jennifer McCollum feels that she and her husband could not have found a better house anywhere in the metro.
“We loved the floorplan immediately,” Jennifer says. “My husband loves the wet room in the master bathroom. I walk through our home each day and think one thing is my favorite. Then I turn around and find something else I love just as much. It is such a beautiful home and so easy to live in. Chris paid attention to every aspect, and I’ve never lived anywhere with such amazing details.”
Chris explains that the quality of the design and the attention to detail that Infinity puts into their homes allow home buyers to begin enjoying their space right away.
“We are proud of the amount of attention that goes into planning a home that is luxurious and also a joy to live in,” Chris concludes. “We take the time to ensure that home not only looks great, but is also practical. Investing time into thinking about how each space will be used by the future homeowner is crucial. Our team can ensure that you end up with a great space that functions as beautifully as it looks.”
