The city of Meridian derives its namesake from the original meridian used by surveyors that runs north and south along Meridian Road. If only those Odd Fellows from 1893 could see what has become of that first grid they mapped and plotted for their future generations.

When the housing bubble popped in 2008 Meridian saw its fair share of foreclosures, and local businesses struggled to recover. As the recession wreaked havoc over the nation for several years following, the humble city of Meridian pressed forward as if cautiously crossing a speed bump. 01 CITY CENTER

What do you get when you combine a historical grain elevator, a towering yellow water tower and speedway track? Meridian’s City Center is exactly that: a dynamic hub of commerce and ingenuity. Small local businesses fill the shops and office space. Entrepreneurs now repurpose historical homes of the past. All points radiate outward from where it all began.

02 THE VILLAGE/KLEINER PARK

The Village at Meridian and its neighboring Julius Kleiner Park sprang up nearly a decade ago. Since its opening the community has embraced the signature park space with concerts, public events, and a pure love of getting outside. The Village carries outdoor appeal with a hint of old world charm in this premier retail and office destination.

“If you build it they will come.” A phrase we’ve heard before, but in the case of the Chinden/Linder neighborhood we saw those prophetic words come to pass with the construction of the LDS Meridian Temple. Anchored by the nearby Spurwing country club and golf course, this sprawling north side area has exploded in the past few years.

04 W USTICK RD/N MERIDIAN RD

If you haven’t already noticed, the city of Meridian has a strong focus on families. The neighborhood of Ustick at Meridian Road hosts one of the most generous parks you’ll find. Settlers Park offers something for everyone - sport courts and fields, a splash pad, massive playground, and a beautiful interactive music installation. Plan a visit with your family soon.

05 S EAGLE RD/FRANKLIN

2001 welcomed St. Luke’s Meridian Medical Center as an infrastructure pillar for the city of Meridian. This anchor near Eagle Road and Franklin served as a catalyst for yet another explosion of development and growth. The expansive campus of buildings known as Scentsy Commons embraces a strong spirit of community welcoming visits to its grounds year round.

06 TEN MILE CREEK/CROSSING

The Ten Mile Creek/Crossing neighborhood of Meridian comes with its very own skyline. This unique blend of high-rise office space and nearby walk-able housing is unlike any other in Idaho. Employers were attracted to this location for that very reason, aligning perfectly with the city’s mission to be a premier city to live, work, and raise a family.
