Would you like to enjoy a romantic, luxury evening at one of our gorgeous beaches without having to lug out all the necessary gear? Life partners Jenny Atanacio and Marc Hupert’s new business, Paradise Picnics, privately pampers you by creating a comfort-centered stage for a small, upscale beach event. Perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, or just to surprise someone you love, Paradise Picnics brings its new concept in entertainment pleasure to most of our area beaches.
“The setup for a Paradise Picnic includes a fine rug, pillows, blankets, a fully set table, a teepee, lanterns, flowers and more,” Jenny says. “We have a message board where you can let someone know how much you care about them that they’ll see as they walk up. We greet our guests and then leave them to enjoy the experience alone. We provide card and board games to play and the catering includes a homemade ice bowl to chill the wine or champagne that clients bring, and a charcuterie board. It’s putting in all the effort that you would for a wedding, but for a picnic for two or a few people.”
Before the pandemic, Jenny was an X-Ray technologist. Her daughter has serious preexisting conditions, and so Jenny had to give up her high-risk job to keep her daughter safe. In a past career, she worked for Hilton, where she learned to decorate and cater to clients. The family began to picnic often during their pandemic isolation to maintain a sense of normalcy, and the idea for the business was born.
“Our picnics create intimacy for our clients and bring them closer together in our beautiful waterfront settings,” Marc says. “There are no distractions, no crowds. We’ve all relearned the importance of privacy and intimacy over the past year. We really want to create an opportunity for our clients to relax, slow down, and enjoy this experience together.”
